That morning Jesus emerged from the tomb, resurrected into a new body, the first incarnation of a new creation, everything changed. The world would never be the same, and for those who are willing to follow Jesus out of that tomb, there are blessings that were never before possible. Not only did Jesus break the hold death had on us through our sin, but he opened the door for us to finally bury certain aspects of our lives that held us down and robbed us of our joy.

It's Easter, 2017. What does the empty tomb of Jesus mean for today? For one thing, it's a reason to celebrate!

The empty tomb of Jesus made room for us to bury some aspects of our lives that need to be done away with, namely the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life.

When Jesus rose from the grave, he not only freed us from our slavery to death, he also opened the way for us to bury the parts of our lives that we need to escape from, including the old grudges and wounds that weigh us down.
